Ferrant
Cargo-bike courier · Mobile app UI/UX

Project overview
Cargo-bike courier · Mobile app UI/UX
Ferrant is a mobile app for cargo-bike couriers doing last-mile delivery in Amsterdam. A courier rides 30 to 40 stops a shift, often in the rain with one hand on the handlebar, so instead of showing the whole route and a dozen buttons, the app shows only what the next stop needs.
The brief
Design a courier app that works at a glance, on a moving bike, in bad weather, across a full shift of 38 stops.
The idea: one stop at a time
Every screen answers one question: what does the courier need for the next stop, and nothing more?
Our approach
Large addresses and numbers, one main action per screen, and the route reordered for the courier instead of by them.
How a stop works
One real stop, from opening the app to the parcel on the doorstep.

Key screens
The decisions behind each step.
Resume
Route photo, progress across 38 stops, parcels left, battery and a cargo check scanned at the hub.
Route
One tap opens the map, with stops already reordered around a closed bridge.
Next stop
The address set large enough to read at a glance, with the door note and entry code right above a single Slide to deliver control.
Proof
Sliding opens the camera, which detects both parcel labels and saves the proof with a GPS pin.
Mark & colour
An F whose top arm turns into a forward arrow, with a small parcel at its foot. Canal Ink and Paper do most of the work, Cobalt marks the active route and Parcel Pink is kept for the one action that matters on each screen. Unbounded for addresses and numbers, Geist for small labels.

Concept project: a fictional brand created to show our mobile app design process. Names, addresses and people are illustrative.
